Providing Faith and Evidence Based Support During Pregnancy and Childbirth

Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.

-Psalm 127:3

What is a birth doula?

A birth doula provides physical, emotional, and educational support before during and after labor. As a faith based doula, centered on Christ, I provide prayer and scriptural truths to support you throughout pregnancy and childbirth as well.

Why should you choose to hire a Doula?

Per a Birth Rights Bar Association 2025 audit, one in three women reported that they experienced coercion, threats, or non-consensual procedures during birth. As your doula, I provide evidence based information and tools to teach you how to recognize the coercive language, and teach you how to effectively and respectfully advocate for yourself. No one should be bullied into complying with hospital guidelines that are not always at the best interest of the patient.

Did you know, 1 in 3 women in the U.S have had a c-section? The most common reason for a c-section is failure to progress, which is when a labor is not progressing as quickly as a provider thinks it should. This term is subjective and also known as “failure to wait”. There are many reasons a woman can progress slower than expected and only 5% of c-sections are true life threatening emergencies! Studies show that doula support significantly reduces your risk of unnecessary c-section.

A doula does not replace the roll of your partner! In fact they do just the opposite! Partners often feel helpless and unsure of what to do during the labor process. I believe labor can be a wonderful bonding experience between partners when they are educated properly on how to be supportive. One of the things I focus on is educating your partner ahead of time on what to expect and the ways they can support you during all phases of labor and delivery. My goal is to work as a team with your partner to ensure maximum comfort and care.
